Women's Depression - The Cause Is Outside Our Minds

The Link Between Estrogen and Depression
By Sheila Sullivan on November 10, 2009

According to the Center for Disease Control databriefs in 2005 -2006, 1 in 20 people in this country in the age group of 12 and up were depressed.

Though there can be life circumstances such as losing a loved one,  a job or going through a divorce that can lead to depression, which often times depend on how one has learned through life experience to cope with these kinds of events, there is new research that links estrogen to depression.

Since women experience depression twice as often as men, this new research should be no surprise but what should surprise women is until ten years ago not a single study had been done to determine this most obvious link.

In the book The Estrogen – Depression Connection The Hidden Link Between Hormones & Women’s Depression, which should be a must read for women of all ages, Karen J. Miller, PhD and Steven A. Rogers, PhD discuss this issue in length.

There are 50 million women in menopause in this country and thanks to them many of the symptoms that are related to hormone imbalance that  lead up to menopause, known as perimenopause, have shed new light on the estimated 35 symptoms that occur during this final stage in the hormone lives of women.

So if you are experiencing depression, anxiety, panic attacks and mood swings just to name a few, you should insist on getting your hormone levels checked before you are shipped off to a psychiatrist office and put on antidepressant drugs that have wide ranges of side effects and some that could kill you.

The pharmaceutical companies spend billions of  dollars on advertisement telling you that serotonin may be a cause in depression. They have never been able to say it is a cause because they have no way to measure it.
A recent news report cnbc.com revealed that the pharmaceutical companies have been spending millions of dollars, which come from our tax dollars, on clinical trials where during the final stages of the studies placebo’s are working as well as their drugs.  The top pharmaceutical companies are joining forces to try and discover why this is happening.  I don’t think you have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the mind is one of our most powerful healing tools.

We often hear the expression chemical imbalance. Well ladies I think it’s time you all knew that hormone imbalances can be the root cause your depression.

During my extensive research on this topic in a never ending search for my life long hormone problems,  I found that estrogen levels effect serotonin levels which in turn effect dopamine and memory.  Therefore,  if you are put on an antidepressant medication and go off you will go through withdrawal symptoms and most likely will still be depressed. This happens because the medication is affecting serotonin levels  not estrogen levels which most likely is the underlying cause your depression.

There are many natural alternative treatments to antidepressant medications mentioned the above mentioned book.

Some of those recommend in the book are exercise, diet, acupuncture, bioidentical hormone replacement.
Dr. Erica Schwartz drerika is an outspoken advocate on the treatment of depression with bioidentical hormone replacement.

Be well. The tide is about to change.

Insomnia Complaints Common for Women in Midlife

By Sheila Sullivan. Posted July 11, 2010

I read an article today in the Harvard Women’s Health Watch that discussed the complaints of midlife women about insomnia.  They made a number of recommendations one of which is not to got to bed to early because we as we get older we require less sleep so if you go to bed at 9pm by 3am you will be awake because you have already had six hours of sleep and at this stage in life we usually sleep between 6 and 7 hours.  The article goes on to talk about all the psychological stress women might be feeling at this stage in life but it never mentions the most obvious cause of lack of sleep at this stage in a women’s lives which is  the change that take place in our hormone levels at this stage in life.

I had my ovaries removed two years ago for what was considered to be borderline ovarian cancer. What is borderline ovarian cancer? It’s not cancer but instead a way of duping me out of my ovaries due to being in menopause and the doctor covering her ass due to malpractice.

After the removal of my ovaries, I began to have sleep and incontinent problems. I went to see a doctor about the incontinent problem and he told me the reason this was happening was because of  lack of estrogen.  He recommended I try a drug to help with this but I had no interest in taking a drug.

I made an appointment with and OB/GYN who I had seen a few years ago and she did some test and wrote a prescription for bioidentical hormones . I had used estrogen patches for nine years prior to the surgery which gave me amazing relief from the perimenopausal systems I had been having and they told me I should not use hormone replacement.   I did not listen to what they had to say because I have done years of research on the relationship hormone imbalances have on women’s health.

It can take a little time to get the dose right when first going on bioidentical hormones. I did get relief from the incontinents which made me want to go want to go but I still was not sleeping the way  I use to.

I called my doctor and she added a little more estrogen to my prescription and now I can barely stay awake when I get into bed to watch a little TV.

I have some links on this blog to compounding pharmacies and other resources for getting a  better understanding of the amazing relieve you can get from having your hormone balanced. Hell even Oprah after being misdiagnosed with a bunch of stuff she did not have found incredible relief when she began using bioidentical hormones.

If you are suffering from lack of sleep in midlife, get your hormone levels checked.

Clinical Trial Recruiting Women Experiencing Postpartum Depression

Educate, Enlighten and Empower

Clinical Trial Recruiting Women Experiencing Postpartum Depression by Sheila Sullivan on  1/5/ 2011

Though there are still few studies going on to  better understand the most obvious role that hormone play in the onset of Postpartum Depression and Psychosis, here is a study that is going on that is using 17 beta estradiol patches in the treatment of Postpartum Depression. One of my biggest complains about these studies is the exclusion that are being used excluding women who have been on psychiatric drugs and women that have had prior experience with Postpartum Psychosis which I feel excludes women who should be included in these trials. One thing that is not very understood about clinical trails is the recruiting criteria they use is done to have the best outcome in the study which leads to many women who should be included in the trails which is a most unfortunate aspect of these studies.

The good news is that these studies are beginning here in the USA but it’s my feeling that the research that has been done in Europe should be considered here and since there are studies that have been done that clearly have indicated at 17 beta estradiol is a viable treatment for not only Postpartum Depression but also for Postpartum Psychosis.

Here is the link to the study. clinicaltrials.gov

There was a study done in 1979 where 40 women  who had  been depressed for two years who did not respond to psychiatric medications or therapy who were given 15 to 25 mg of premarin which is a synthetic estrogen. They had significant positive results against placebo but the surprising thing was that there was never a follow-up study done.   This study came from a book Entitled Estrogen Effects in Psychiatric Disorders written in 2005 by two psychiatrist who come from Germany and Switzerland. Niels Bergemann and Anita Riecher.
A study like this that clearly indicates that estrogen can  be used successfully in treatment of women who are suffering depression.  There are billions of dollars being made on antidepressant drugs which brings up the questions that are these companies withholding research that indicated that estrogen can be used as a treatment in women’s depression.

Premarin is a synthetic hormone that since this study was done has been linked to an increase in cancer and heart problems in women. BHRT aka as bioidentical hormone replacement which are planted based are considered to be much safer and are even being used in women who have breast cancer.
Since there are also doctors and compounding pharmacies in this country that are currently treating women with hormones  for Postpartum Depression, please take a look at my links to find one.

Post-partum depression effectively treated with 17 Beta Estradiol

Cohasset native raises awareness about post-partum depression

By Nancy White/nwhite@cnc.com

A Cohasset native has been invited to present her research at an international health conference in London in March.  But, this women’s health advocate is not a doctor or a medical professional.
Sheila Sullivan, currently of Hull, is simply a passionate woman looking to change the way the medical community and women themselves are diagnosed and treated.  Her focus, which was generated in part from her own personal experiences, is postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis.

For the past 10 years, Sullivan has spent hundreds of hours conducting independent research to uncover the cause of postpartum depression.  She’s read over 500 books written by medical professionals, visited hundreds of websites, had conversations with dozens of medical authors and experts and spoke to hundreds of women everywhere she goes.

As someone who has done the research and had personal experience she believes she has come to a profound understanding of the condition and its causes.
The First World Congress of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Andrology is scheduled for mid-March and has given her the opportunity to present her research in an oral presentation.  Sullivan, who has recently gone back to college to pursue an associate’s degree in Natural Sciences, is looking to raise money to get to London for the conference.

“It’s my greatest hope that this will begin a much needed change in the backward thinking regarding postpartum depression and psychosis,” Sullivan said.  “This is an extraordinary opportunity for me…I hope in going to the conference I find psychologists like thinking and support for my cause.”

In her research paper, she argues that there is a strong connection between hormonal imbalances and female brain.  Specifically, she looks at the inter-relation between hormonal imbalance, trauma and memory.  She also advocates for the use of base line hormone levels to be used as a first line diagnostic tool in the onset of postpartum depression and psychosis.

“Because of a lack of research (in this area) women are suffering unnecessarily,” Sullivan said.  “(I want) to bring a new understanding that lead to the proper treatment of women experiencing these conditions.”
For several years Sullivan has written a blog on her research and thoughts
(http://www.postpartumawareness.com/)

“I feel the most effective way to reach women in this country is to speak at women’s events and by speaking to young women in college and high school,” said Sullivan, adding she is concerned working class and poor women are not getting the information they need to make informed decisions about their health and treatment.
“The perception of these conditions (postpartum depression and psychosis) being mental illnesses needs to change, as this prevents many women from seeking out help they need because of fear of losing their babies,” said Sullivan.
Sullivan believes, and cites medical research, postpartum depression can be effectively treated with 17 Beta Estradiol, the main estrogen women produce from puberty to post menopause.  There are currently physicians and compounding pharmacies treating postpartum depression with these bioidentical hormones.  Her ultimate hope is more doctors and the medical community as a whole will begin to recognize the effectiveness of this treatment method.
“It’s an incredible honor to be invited.  It just goes to show if you believe in yourself and believe in what your body and mind are telling you then you can find truth in healing.  When I started this research 10 years ago I never thought I’d be here.  It’s been a journey,” Sullivan said.
Sullivan will continue to network with medical professionals and women’s health advocacy groups to see that changes are made.
“This can be a lonely road sometimes as I am the only women in the country that is advocating for the kind of changes and bring a new understanding to these conditions,” Sullivan said.

Could Hormone Restoration Slow the Ageing Process?

"Old age ain't no place for sissies."  Bette Davis

Are you feeling much older and suffering far more health problems than previous years?

The common culprit mainstream tells us is the ageing factor, but that may not be the whole truth. So don't blame your lack of happiness & health problems on the ageing process, because ageing, health conditions and diseases such as cancer are linked to insufficient hormones. Mainstream science aren't interested in pursing that angle because it would mean going down the anti ageing & health prevention health care route.

Ageing happens to all of us, its gradual and sometimes – it just sneaks up on us. Around the age of thirty, our energy naturally starts to waiver. Our general vitality and virility start to decline. In many ways we become vulnerable to increasing health problems.

We will all experience depression, failing memory, excessive tiredness even with sleep, weight gain, unexplained bone or nerve pain, insomnia, temperature fluctuations, and headaches, which are all ageing factors. These symptoms are all vital clues that your body and health is sliding into various degrees of deterioration.

For women, it can mean that the perimenopause has begun - a time when hormones start to decline, it could be the reminder that the menopause or post menopause has been reached and their hormonal tank is empty.

Remember during your youthful days, your hormones were raging, you felt energised and easily aroused to live it up and often danced the night away. Your body functioned at peak efficiency, you built muscle instead of fat, you had an abundance of energy and you bounced back from sickness and injury much faster, but as you age, it's a different story.

Your body loses its ability to produce and release certain hormones as other vital hormones diminish, all have a knock on effect on one another, but when you start to feel old, the mere thought of loud music or crowds is enough to send you running for your slippers or for your bed to sleep?  Understand that you just didn't feel empowered, energised and healthy because your body was young, it was because you had optimal levels of hormones as well.  Therefore, it stands to reason that recreating this same finely tuned balance of hormones that we possessed in our younger years is the key to controlling ageing.

It's long overdue, for the medical profession to realise, that losing your memory, overall health and zest for living around 45-to 50, is very young, compared to our new life span. More should be done in line of health prevention and help us stay healthier for much longer.

After all, how many senior citizens do you know, that only have one health condition and one disease to live with? Usually they suffer a wide range of different types of health conditions and diseases; have huge amounts of medications to take daily, which keep the drug companies and the medical profession in business, far more than the younger generations.

One fact is clear, we need to step up as individuals and do more to help ourselves maintain our own health. At least until mainstream science becomes more holistic and provide the hormone restoration that would change how we live our middle and senior years; and spare us from early entry into nursing homes.

Max Julius asked in his article, “Where Are We Going With Long-term Health Care For The Elderly?” 3/12/2010. Ticking, 'timebomb' - 'According to the Care Quality Commission, which regulates the care homes sector, the government expects that 1.7 million more adults will need care and support in 20 years’ time.   In the next 20 years, the number of people over 65 is projected to grow by almost half, the CQC said. The number of people aged over 85 in England will double, and the number over 100 will quadruple."

How Can We Slow The Ageing Process?

I was surprised to learn that hormonal health needed other hormones for a complete balance, to stop the human body from slipping into early deterioration. I term 'early deterioration,' due to the fact that a majority of us are all going to live 30-50 years longer, in spite of the menopause, the ageing processes, various illnesses and diseases.

Cutting edge holistic M.D. doctors tell us that declining hormones are the primarily causes why we age. These hormones include ACTH, aldosterone, calcitonin, cortisol, EPO, oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, growth hormones, pregnenolone, thyroid, T4, T3, insulin, DHEA, melatonin, endorphins and vasopressin, etc., and they all help keep us feeling younger, regulate breathing, brain functioning, metabolism, immunity, and digestive system running smoothly.

Thierry Hertoghe, in his book, The Hormones Solution- Stay Younger Longer, he reported that,  “Your body contains more than one hundred different types of hormones, and they pour into your blood stream at the rate of billions of units per day.”

Dr. Hertoghe also mentioned in his book that he has been taking thyroid supplements, cortisol, DHEA, testosterone, melatonin, growth hormone on a daily basis for years and how he depends on all these supplements to maintain his mood, energy, and physical fitness. He also follows the basic principles of a healthy diet and uses a handful of vitamin and mineral supplements to support the hormonal balance he's after.

"I personally experienced extreme health degeneration and followed by a swift rejuvenation, just by implementing a few suggestions from Dr. Hertoghe & T.S Wiley. Five years ago, I had been severely hit by numerous acute health problems as I moved into the later stages of the perimenopause.  By the time the menopause appeared, my body had totally disowned any emotional, mental or physical responsibility for sufficient functional; neither my mind, mental ability, or any bodily organ or system seemed willing to work with me.  In just a few years, I felt like I had aged 20 years in bodily terms, but in reality, I was just late forties and looked early thirties due to my healthy lifestyle.

I felt very ill and it was just a question of time, when I would have developed common health conditions and diseases that seem to hit women who are locked into the perimenopause, menopause and post menopause. I decided suffering forEVER, wasn't for me and sort a cure!  You could say that I am the proof, when I started to incorporate more vitamins, DHEA and bioidentical hormones, all my health complaints reversed.  I no longer feel old! In fact, I've rejuvenated upon all levels.  I have successfuly turned back the clock."     ~  Marie Hart

The Wiley Protocol Bioidentical Restoration HRT

" The only reason I would take up jogging is so that I could hear heavy breathing again."  ~  Erma Bombeck

The Wiley protocol is a multi phasic rhythmic dosing schedule for bioidentical hormones to be given to women in a biomimetic way, to mimic biology, no one has ever done this before. We introduce Transdermal oestrogen, progesterone, in a way that mimics a normal cycle a young woman had at twenty. Then we justify the dosing by using serum blood levels on day 12 & 21, to see if indeed she is the 20-year old reference range. It's important because young women, the template for young women have no heart disease, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, so when we put women back, we actually restore their hormones – we just don't treat their symptoms, and we know these young women are healthier in every way.

The delivery system is simply, we use three ml syringes, colour coded, purple for progesterone, green for oestrogen, and the women that way don't puck up the wrong syringes in the night when they are putting on their hormones and take the wrong thing.

One of the ways the Federal Government intends to get rid of bioidentical hormones is because they are prescribed so many ways, made so many ways. We've standardised the method, material, prices, the packaging, and dose modification so they can be studied. You can go to our website www.thewileyprotocol.com, and you will find pharmacies, over 350 physicians prescribing and all the information you need to get started.

~ TS Wiley, CEO of The Wiley Protocol, talking about hormone replacement therapy for women. You can hear T.S Wiley on You Tube.

Relief Is In The Rhythm, newsletter 31st December, Issue 2034 stated: "We believe the future of hormone therapy is not "replacement" but Biomimetic Restoration with standardized bioidentical compounded FDA approved substances, we are grateful our WP pharmacies in this endeavor. The great thing about Wiley Systems standardization is the dedication to accurate, efficacious compounded products that are reproducible at all the Wiley Pharmacies."

There's A Mega Difference Between Static HRT and Biomimetic Dosing

How the Wiley Protocol differs from other types of hormonal treatment, conventional HRT and other bioidentical treatments. Most just offer small minimal hormone doses, that really does not replace any real amount of missing or declining hormones therefore cannot restore women to their natural hormonal functioning. Whereas Biomimetic which is used in the Wiley Protocol, a natural rhythmic dosing that restores women's hormones to normal levels and optimal health. It is this Biomimetic method that's missing from all other bioidentical and synthetic hormone replacement therapies.

"I refuse to think of them as chin hairs. I think of them as stray eyebrows."    ~ Janette Barber

Harsh Realities Of The Menopause

Suzanne Somers made known 'The Seven Dwarfs of Menopause,' which are all real life inhibitors that turns women's lives up side down; " Itchy, Bitchy, Sleepy, Sweaty, Bloated, Forgetful and, my favourite, All Dried Up."

"Of course, I'd be lying if I told you that seven would be the highest menopausal symptoms, you'd ever have to deal with, but unfortunately for many women their list is never ending, which updates all too regularly. When thrown into the middle of my worse tidal waves of the menopause, I don't think I ever felt so dispassionate for my body, life, or for the people I had loved and cared about all my life. No one mattered not even me.

"If you're a woman who's planning to live past the age of 35, at some point you're going to face hormone imbalance. All women need to be armed with this information." Oprah, made clear on her TV show about 'Hormone Replacement Therapy - Beginning the Conversation.

So you can understand just how insufficient hormones are so debilitating, Dr Christiane Northrup Defines Menopause and Hormones.

  Declining Hormones

  • Menopause: permanent end of menstrual periods
  • Peri-Menopause: the transitional phase that leads to menopause; typically lasting 5-8 years; begins around 45
  • Symptoms: trouble sleeping, mood swings, hot flashes, irregular periods, night sweats, irritability
  • Estrogen: the hormone that prepares the egg for ovulation and the body for pregnancy: HIGH = bloating, weight gain, headaches, water retention, breast tenderness LOW = hot flashes, vaginal dryness
  • Testosterone: the hormone that controls libido and sexual function: HIGH = aggressiveness, facial hair, increased sex drive LOW = mood swings, low sex drive
  • Progesterone: the hormone that calms and prepares the body for pregnancy: HIGH = sleepiness, depression, lethargy LOW = irritability, pms symptoms.

    Self Help

Dr. Northrup also suggested being conscious of diet, exercise, amount of sleep, caffeine and alcohol as all can effect hormone levels. Be in tune with your body to understand when things have changed and seek help when needed from your doctor and request special hormonal tests, if you suspect that your hormones are declining.

    Hormones To Be Tested Are:

  • Follicle-stimulating hormone - high FSH and irregular periods are a sign of perimenopause
  • Thyroid-stimulating hormone - thyroid problems are common during menopause
  • Estrogen
  • Progesterone
  • Testosterone

On the previous HRT episode, viewer Michelle was given the opportunity to visit Dr. Prudence Hall with Robin McGraw for a hormone assessment. The results came back with Michelle as follows.

Estradiol: normal= 200; Michelle= 7

Progesterone: normal= 10-20; Michelle= .3

Testosterone: normal= 50-80; Michelle= 24

These hormones would have continued diminishing, had Michelle not sought holistic help.

Something for you to think about. Bioidentical Hormones is restoring women's lives every day!!

“I feel like I’m 18 again. Hot flashes are gone, my sex drive is back and there is a new spark in my marriage! It’s been wonderful. My husband is also on the program. He looks so much younger — he lost fat, has more energy and we have chemistry again. We both love the Anti-Ageing program” ~ Jodie, Charlotte

Taking bioidentical hormones, Somers writes, "I started to feel relief immediately. I began to sleep better, the hot flashes subsided, and slowly my sex drive returned. My thinking also got better, and the horrible itch on my legs went away."

Is there life after the Menopause?

Yes, for sure, and thousands of women are living testimonials to that fact, so do yourself a favour and research all about bioidentical!

“I feel better than I ever have in my life.”
~ Robin McGraw, speaking about BHRT on Oprah.

The Bioidentical HRT Dilemma

"Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men." -- Martin Luther King Jr

Learning all about bioidentical hormones and the role they play in your emotional, physical health and the ageing process, presents you with a huge dilemma; if you take only the advice from your mainstream doctor and do nothing holistically to slap a red light on the ageing process by replacing missing hormones, you'll be keeping the medical profession in business with hospital appointments, tests, surgery and life- long medication.  Even if you accept synthetic HRT, you'll still experience long-term health problems because HRT does not restore your empty hormonal tank. Nor does HRT deal with new negative health symptoms that show up on a regular bases,  and for sure, once you stop taking HRT as mainstream doctors advises women just to use HRT for a few years due to cancer and heart disease risk, all your menopausal symptoms will return with vengeance.

If you don't fancy all the usual suffering that most people accept as old age, because ' it's the change of life', or it's the menopause and it's natural, you have to search for a natural alternative such as bioidentical hormones. I am on bioidentcial hormone therapy for life now, there's no way that I am ever going back to the menopause and all the negative health deterioration.  All those endless symptoms that it caused, and if in ten years time something happens to me as a result of using bioidenticals, then I won't complain because I would have lived ten amazing years emotionally and physically flying. Before discovering bioidentical hormones, I had been deeply depressed and had lived in my bedroom for five years, cut off from the life that I had previously known with endless acute symptoms.

I've met a lot of post menopausal women that don't want to have their 28-day cycle back because they bought into the myth that the menopause brings freedom from monthly periods and childbirth, etc. But, having a period tells you that your hormones are at optimal levels and your body is functioning and you still won't have to worry about falling pregnant. Remember- mimic nature is the name of the game and stay away from static doses.  I never really thought about my menstruation cycle until it was gone and I became a sick and very old woman overnight. Give me a period any day, rather than all the mental and physical suffering that had replaced them.

The only bioidentical hormone experience I've had, is with the Wiley Protocol and as The Wiley Protocol website states, “Relief is in the rhythm.” The Wiley Protocol is multi-phasic rhythmic dosing, meaning that the topical creams and their amounts vary throughout the 28 day cycle to restore the hormone levels of a woman in her prime. There are four levels that are predetermined by blood tests and they are given in varying amounts twice a day, that mimics the body's original flow of oestrogen and progesterone peak to fall.
There will be much debate over middle aged women peaking and flowing at any age similar to a younger woman in her 20-s, but it's your life and you have to live it in the best health you can develop for yourself. What really matters is how healthy you are and how much you want to feel alive?

You must do what feels right for you, whether science, family or friends favour or disapprove of your quest for health.

"The possibility of stepping into a higher plane is quite real for everyone. It requires no force or effort or sacrifice. It involves little more than changing our ideas about what is normal." ~  Deepak Chopra

I could go on and on, my list of overall emotional and health improvements would be much longer.

Improvements within these conditions have been documented by the Wiley Protocol Doctors; protection against fibrocystic breasts, reduced risk of heart disease, prevention of osteoporosis and in many cases of acute osteoporosis – a total reversal after one year using the Wiley Protocol.

Other bioidentical Hormone HRT, their doses differ, perimenopausal woman do not take the same dose as a post menopausal woman. Most commonly women are started during their early menopause with a low dose, and gradually increased to an average high dose in menopause. With time, then their BHRT are tapered back down the dose to maintain good bone health.

The Wiley Protocol, BHRT steadily increases through four levels, and women then remain on level four for life, if they feel happy and healthy.

What Are Bio Identical Hormones?

"What we need is not the will to believe but the will to find out."  ~ Bertrand Russell

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), also known as BHT (Bioidentical Hormone Therapy), or natural hormone therapy.

Bioidentical hormones are medication preparations that contains hormones that are an exact molecule-by-molecule chemical match to those made naturally by the human body. Derived from plant sources they mimic the natural wavelike, rhythms of the hormone blood levels in a normal menstrual cycle with certain doses.

Common Disorders Treated by BHRT

All symptoms of the menopause, hot flushes, night sweats, weight gains, and vaginal dryness, etc.

BHRT are also used as relievers for depression, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, mood swings and exhaustion due to premenstrual syndrome and postpartum depression, relief for allergies, fatigue and stress due to weight gain, muscle weakness, decreased libido and memory loss in cases of hypothyroidism, hypoadrenalism, andropose, endometriosis, polycystic ovaries and osteoporosis

Anti Ageing: Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy has been shown to improve health, increase longevity and turn back the hands of time without the risks posed by synthetic hormones.

Doctors who prescribe bioidentical hormones

Although mainstream doctors today trained in synthetic drug therapy, there are many existing doctors who prefer to prescribe bioidentical hormone over synthetic ones. Most of them are holistic doctors and naturopathic practitioners who have additional specialized training in bioidentical hormone therapy. Not all of them will be familar with the Wiley Protocol or have any intention of restoring the natural 28-day cycle.

Holistic medical doctors use a combination of conventional Western medicine and a combination of other alternative medicines such as bioidentical hormonal therapy, acupuncture, herbal therapy or homoeopathy, etc.

Mainstream
doctors prescribe synthetic HRT

BHRT Creams & Gels

Bioidentical hormone are turned into topical creams, ointments and gels for skin application as well as vaginal creams because they are said to be efficient ways of transporting bioidentical hormones into the body. The can be compounded with a variety of different hormones without diminishing the strength and dosage of the medication.

Bioidentical HRT Merit Investigating Based Upon Patients Experiences

Caroline: I am an 83 year "young" woman doing well.  There was an adjustment period during the first 3 months that was challenging which I needed continual support through. Since then I feel wonderful.
AS of this writing, I'm on Day 14 of my 11th cycle.  On Day One I increased E to Wiley Protocol + 3.  This feels like the right thing to do.
Earlier this month I had a nuclear treadmill stress test (a weak one-only 4 minutes).  Results showed completely clear coronary arteries with no blockages.  In July carotid arteries were checked via ultrasound.  These arteries are also completely clear.  In addition the atrial arrhythmia I had at the end of July is completely healed by itself.

I believe these results come directly from taking Wiley Protocol hormones these past 10 months.  Thought you would want to know.

Kathy: I have read TS Wiley’s book, Sex, Lies and Menopause and I found it very helpful and fascinating. I have underlined many sections.

I still feel great.

My brain feels more alert and I have had no symptoms to speak of, except for a little cramping last night. I am delighted that I have found you and chosen this path and I will recommend you to everyone I know.

I have gone from feeling lifeless and dying in the Wiley sense of the word to enthusiastic and optimistic once again.

Sandra Staples Howard:  I was on the Wiley Protocol for about 6 - 8 months and my life had turned around. Decrease in anxiety, able to multitask, focus on work. I'm an RN so have some education but not the depth that is needed to understand the workings of our hormones and the need for them. I started thinking, well is this just mind over matter, because I want to feel good and get my life back in order. So I stopped doing the hormones, lord and behold the crazy woman had emerged again, so I am now a believer that my body work's much better when it's in balance. Only 14 days into the protocol, can't wait for the benefits to kick in again. Thanks for all of the research that you have committed to developing this program. My goals are to continue my education and get on board with promoting Natural Hormones to maintain health.

Marie Hart: I have experienced a tremendous healing result from using the Wiley Protocol for the last 15-months. They are life changing  and have totally restored all aspects of myself, emotionally, mentally and physically to such a degree, I feel as good as I did in my twenties and very normal.  I am officially back to Super Woman Status.  Unlike most women of my age that I know!  Most are withdrawing from living, and have started to avoid eye or phone contact with everyone they know.

Prior to finding the Wiley Protocol, my health had been gradually robbed by the perimenopause that started its sneaky assault. When the menopause appeared, I couldn't think, remember, talk fluently, and all aspects of bodily functioning malfunctioned   I reached a point where I didn't want to live because there wasn't any living I could do!  While mainstream doctors may not be too  happy or say that they are worried that I have a mind and body behaving like a 20-year old, but comparing with the dreadful life I had suffered prior to finding the WP, I'll take my chances with bio hormonal restoration.  For years women have been brainwashed into thinking that the so called 'change of life' is natural. Well there's nothing natural about having a mind and body that cannot function when these vital hormones decline.  All too soon when they are gone, you start to feel very old and sick, with escalating health problems that seem to worsen every year. I will never return to those days and thanks to TS Wiley and her team, I won't have too.
One thing for sure, anyone could rob me of all I own, but no one will take my WP hormones.  It would be over my dead body!   I tried the menopause and it didn't suit me. Finding the Wiley Protocol not only saved my life, but also gave me back a life worth living.  I urge all women to turn to the Wiley Protocol and change their lives.  Don't suffer on for the sake of the menopause - it really isn't worth it.  Restore your hormones and you will get your body and your life back.

Men Benefit From Wiley protocol Too

Carl & Jenny Youngblood: Carl and I have been married for almost 31 years.   He is 68 and I am 55 years.  I got hit hard by menopause when I was 51 - was really, really miserable with hot flashes, depression, couldn't sleep, sudden anger at little things, itching, sore muscles - just really didn't want to get out of bed in the mornings.   I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me;  I had always been so happy, smiling all the time.
I saw a book by Suzanne Somers, The Sexy Years, and was amazed that she was talking about all of my symptoms!  After talking to a friend in our organic co-op, I made an appt with Dr. Ridley and began the Wiley Protocol.   What a change!   Within two weeks, I felt so much more like myself.  And it has been getting better and better.

About two years ago, I noticed my husband, Carl, was turning into a grumpy old man.  This was a shock because he had been  a very happy, always positive and extremely energetic kind of guy.  He even worked two jobs so our children could attend private school.  You just couldn't get this guy to slow down.   But he was coming home from work and needing a nap!   He was depressed, tired, angry - just not at all the man I married!   It took me about a year of conspicuously leaving articles and books so he could read about the wonders of bioidentical hormones to finally convince him to try it.

He found a doctor himself who gave him testosterone pellets.  The first two weeks he was like an animal;  I was hiding from him!   Too much testosterone!   About a month in, he started to level out and felt so much better, he was convinced!   Unfortunately, the pellets hit you hard in the beginning and then run out fast.   He really only had about a good six weeks where he felt better.    After that, he saw Dr. Ridley and got on the Wiley Protocol for Men.   It's been a great ride since then.    He feels so much better - got his energy and good attitude back, and it's like we are back on our honeymoon (the best part!).   We are enjoying the best sex of our relationship and ultimately are closer than ever emotionally. The Wiley Protocol has saved our lives and our marriage and we thank you. I am a 64-year-old man with type II diabetes that had been out of control for years. After using the Wiley Protocol for Men and reading T.S. Wiley’s book, “Lights Out”, and following her instructions, my blood glucose remains normal.  It went from an average of 390 to an average of 110 which is considered normal. I owe my life to T.S. Wiley as she has given me a new lease on life. My case has been documented by my doctors.

Welcome To Bioidentical Hormones London

There aint no rules around here. We are trying to accomplish something!" Thomas Alva Edison

I'll be chatting, inspiring, raving, and educating you all about bioidentical hormones, also known as BHRT. For those of you who don't yet know anything about bioidenticals, they are a natural alternative to synthentic HRT. They are derived from plants and turned into medication preparations that contain hormones that are exact molecule - by - molecule chemical match to those made in the human body. They mimic the natural wavelike, rhythms of the hormone levels in the normal menstrual cycle.

The Wiley Protocol Bioidentical Restoration Therapy have kicked the menopause out of my body and restord my Super Woman Status.

I hope you'll be open minded enough to be inspired and educate yourself all about BHRT. They maybe plant based, but don't be fooled, they are not just plants to the women on BHRT, they are as valuable as gold or pearls, because of the feel good factor and hormonal restoration they deliver.
